Yoga is an ancient series of practices designed to strengthen our body, mind and spirit. In the west we typically focus on “asanas” or poses that help develop strength , flexibility, release and rest. Other elements of the yoga pathway include meditation, contemplation, ethical practices, and personally discerned spiritual growth. There are many different approaches to the practice of yoga. My focus as a yoga educator is to partner with you to develop a series of yang (strength), yin (flexibility and release) and restorative (rest) sequences and related practices that work for your body, mind, and sprit. My goal is for you to develop a home practice that enhances your life.
Yin Yoga Flows for the whole body— In yoga philosophy, our physical body is one of our 5 energetic bodies; this body contains our muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and the nadi system, or channels though which energy flows. This 4-week yin yoga series will focus on energizing our physical body. Our flows will focus on (1) all 6 movements of the spine; (2) all 6 movements of the hip sockets; (3) all 4 areas of the legs; and (4) our extremities: shoulders, arms, wrists and toes. Each class will begin with a short mediation and end with a brief strength exercise followed by a relaxation pose. I am able to offer variations for poses for those who need to protect their knees or other areas of the body. If you have any questions about Yin Yoga or concerns about the practice, please contract me.
Classes will be held on Zoom on Saturdays (9:30-10:30) and Tuesdays (9-10 am). You can sign up for
1. Just the 4 Tuesday classes ($25)
2. Just the 4 Saturday classes ($25)
3. All 8 classes (only $40!)
If you sign up for Tuesday or Saturday and find you have to miss a class, you can come on the other day to make it up. Note that each week the Tuesday and Saturday classes will be the same. So if you sign up for both days you’ll have double the fun and benefit!

I trained initially with My Vinyasa Practice, a Yoga Alliance approved trainer, and received my 200 hour yoga teacher certificate. I am enrolled in an follow-up 300 hour program. I have additional training in yin yoga with Bernie Clark and have attended yoga workshops on fascia and osteoperosis.
